Our proprietary software and custom lenses are designed to make the fitting process more efficient while addressing challenging vision needs. We are looking for a Clinical Lab Consultant to join our Clinical Support Team and serve as a trusted clinical resource for eye care practitioners and their teams. This is an opportunity to use your contact lens expertise in a role that goes beyond traditional clinical practice. You will consult with practitioners, help them refine their lens designs, provide education and training, contribute to product improvements, and collaborate with teams across the organization.

Job Overview (Remote/Hybrid) As a member of the WAVE Clinical Support Team, the Clinical Lab Consultant provides responsive, professional clinical and educational support to doctors and their staff. This role provides expertise in contact lens fitting and design, supports customer education and cross-functional initiatives, and collaborates with WAVE and OCULUS teams to advance customer service, product quality, and business results. Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned): Provide clinical consultation and support to WAVE customers through phone, email, online coaching, and case consultation to assist with contact lens fitting, design, and effective use of the WAVE Contact Lens System. Provide clinical consultation and guidance to help practitioners improve contact lens designs and develop their skills using WAVE software and lenses. Assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of clinical training and educational materials for eye care practitioners and staff, including manuals, forms, photographs, videos, and other resources. Support cross-functional initiatives involving Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Regulatory, and Quality Management, including WAVE contact lens designs and applicable domestic and international requirements. Review WAVE software and provide clinical and user feedback to support product improvements and enhancements. Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding WAVE software, WAVE lenses, contact lens design and fitting, and their clinical applications. Stay current on contact lens industry and ophthalmology trends, innovations, market developments, and regulatory requirements through continuous learning. Collaborate with other departments and promote teamwork within the WAVE and OCULUS teams to deliver quality service, productivity, and business results. Understand and apply the company Fundamentals at all times. Represent WAVE at local, regional, and international tradeshows and other industry events as needed. Support special assignments, projects, and other business initiatives as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or college degree in opticianry, technology, science, business, or a related field preferred. Licensed fitting optician or NCLE certification required. Minimum of 10 years of clinical, technical, and/or industry experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred. Strong knowledge of contact lens designs and fitting philosophies. Broad knowledge of conditions, pathologies, and treatments managed by ophthalmologists and optometrists, with detailed knowledge related to contact lens fitting and associated devices. Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, planning, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to work effectively across functions and collaborate with others. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and TeamViewer. Strong customer-service orientation and professional work ethic. Ability to maintain confidential company and patient-related information.
Physical demands and work environment:
The company provides a smoke and vape-free environment on company premises for its employees, customers, and visitors. Ability to perform a desk-based role for extended periods, including sitting, talking, hearing, and working at a computer using various software applications. Ability to travel approximately 10-25% of the time.
