We are looking for a full-time optician to join our team. We're seeking a highly motivated candidate with excellent customer service skills to help guide patients to finding their perfect eyewear fit!

Responsibilities:

Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features Provide recommendations on lens options, frames, and lens coatings based on customers' needs and preferences Adjust and repair eyewear as needed Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses Maintain accurate and organized patient records Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescriptions and optimal patient care

Skills:

Patient care: Skilled at working with patients of all ages, including seniors, with patience and empathy Medical billing & coding: Knowledge of medical billing procedures and ability to accurately process insurance claims and assign appropriate codes for eyewear purchases Medical terminology: Familiarity with terminology related to eye health and vision correction Physiology knowledge: Understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the eye to effectively communicate with patients about their eye health Retail math: Ability to perform basic calculations related to pricing, discounts, and sales transactions Aseptic technique: Adherence to sterile procedures when handling and fitting contact lenses

HIPAA:

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Laboratory:

Experience with lab procedures such as lens cutting, edging, and tinting

Sales:

Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the value of different eyewear options to customers

Note:

Prior experience as an optician is preferred but not required, and training will be provided. ABO certification is preferred but not required. If you are a detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills and a passion for eye care, we encourage you to apply.
