Optician & Insurance Specialist Socialeyes Eye Studio is a boutique, private optometry practice in Prosper, Texas, dedicated to providing exceptional eye care, curated eyewear, and a personalized patient experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and motivated team member who enjoys helping people and has a passion for sales, style, and providing high-quality eyewear tailored to each patient's needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping others, comfortable with optical sales, and able to balance personalized patient care with accurate insurance processing. Responsibilities Assist patients with frame selection and provide personalized eyewear recommendations Educate patients about lens options, features, and benefits Take accurate eyewear measurements, dispense completed glasses, and perform frame adjustments to ensure proper fit, comfort, and vision Support optical sales goals Create a welcoming and personalized patient experience Verify vision and medical insurance benefits Explain insurance coverage, patient financial responsibility, and payment options Submit and follow up on insurance claims while maintaining accurate patient records and protecting confidential patient information Schedule appointments and support front-office responsibilities Collect payments and operate the point-of-sale system accurately Work collaboratively with the doctor and other team members Help maintain an organized, polished, and professional optical environment Qualifications Optical experience strongly preferred Retail sales, medical office, or insurance experience will also be considered Familiarity with optical measurements, frame adjustments, lens options, and optical terminology is preferred Comfortable using practice-management and point-of-sale systems, handling payments, and maintaining accurate records Motivated, confident, and comfortable recommending products Strong communication and customer-service skills Detail-oriented and able to manage insurance information accurately Dependable, professional, and willing to take initiative Positive attitude and a strong team-player mentality Passion for providing an elevated patient experience Schedule Monday through Thursday Additional hours may be available to the right candidate Compensation Starting at $17 per hour, with pay dependent on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Employee eyewear benefits If you're a go-getter who loves helping people, appreciates great eyewear, and wants to be part of a positive team, we'd love to meet you!
