Job Description

Job Overview We have an opening for a fill in position at 2 locations. We keep things simple and refer patients to specialists focusing on the patients daily needs for vision. We have a retinal camera for advanced diagnoses. Pay scale to be determined. Responsibilities Perform thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and physiological functions of the eyes. Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, and cataracts. Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or treatments tailored to each patient's needs while ensuring compliance with medical standards. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using paper records. Educate patients on eye health maintenance, proper use of eyewear or contact lenses. Follow strict aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety and adhere to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Referrals for patients needing extra care. Qualifications Valid license as an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist with relevant state or national certifications. Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care. Familiarity with optical equipment, EMR/EHR systems, and medical coding practices for billing purposes. Excellent patient care skills combined with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including children (pediatrics). Strong communication skills for explaining diagnoses and treatment options clearly while providing outstanding customer service. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and security of all patient information.
