Job Summary We are a new, modern, and high-tech optometry office seeking a dedicated Associate Optometrist to join our dynamic eye care team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage a variety of ocular conditions, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help improve vision health and enhance the quality of life for our diverse patient community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tools and collaborate with a passionate team committed to excellence in eye health. Responsibilities Conduct thorough ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose and manage eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other ocular conditions utilizing your knowledge of physiology and disease state management. Perform contact lens fittings and provide patient education on lens care, usage, and maintenance. Operate medical equipment safely and accurately, including slit lamps, ophthalmoscopes, and other ophthalmic diagnostic tools. Document all patient interactions comprehensively in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals on ophthalmic consultations and coordinate treatment plans for complex cases. Maintain a high standard of patient care through effective communication, compassionate service, and adherence to aseptic techniques during examinations. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, optometry practices, and anatomy related to the eye. Proficiency in using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment and medical equipment operation. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical records management. Ability to perform ophthalmic diagnosis, vital signs assessment, and disease state management confidently. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients about their eye health and treatment options. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to eye care and healthcare diagnosis procedures. Knowledge of contact lens fitting techniques, medical coding practices, and customer service excellence.
