Step into an established, high-demand practice with a steady patient flow from your first day.

Work-Life Balance:

Enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends . Optometrist call occurs approximately every 6-8 weeks , with each call shift lasting Monday through Sunday (about 6-7 weeks per year total). Cell phone reimbursement is provided

Manageable Patient Volume:

See 20-24 patients per day with 4 hours of administrative time each week to support charting and care coordination.

Full Scope Optometry:

Practice to the full extent of your training and expand your clinical skill set while delivering comprehensive eye care.

Seamless EMR:

Utilize a unified EMR system across the PIH Health network , making care coordination with specialists simple and efficient.

Required Skills and Experience Safeguard and preserve the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in accordance with State and Federal (HIPAA) regulations , as well as hospital and departmental policies. Ensure a safe patient environment and adherence to safety protocols. Provide direct patient care in accordance with established clinical guidelines. Take thorough patient histories, perform comprehensive eye examinations, make assessments and diagnoses, and communicate pertinent findings to patients and families. Order and interpret routine screening and therapeutic procedures as clinically indicated. Administer, furnish, or prescribe medications or treatments within scope of practice . Write and transmit orders and document patient progress notes accurately. Provide complete and compliant clinical documentation to support quality patient care, proper coding, and billing. Participate in the optometrist call schedule as required. Professional Development & Leadership Maintain and adhere to departmental policies, performance improvement programs, safety protocols, and infection control standards . Promote professional growth through educational programs, literature review, in-service meetings, and workshops to stay current with best practices.

Experience:

Current, unrestricted California Optometry license Graduate of an accredited School of Optometry Minimum of five (5) years of full-time clinical experience as an Optometrist; residency training preferred Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and stay current with clinical best practices

Compensation Range:
