Optometrist Dr. Susan Driscoll & Associates Altamonte Springs, FL Job Details Part-time 15 hours ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Vital signs HIPAA Optometry License Patient interaction Medical terminology Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Optometrist to join our healthcare team 1 to 2 days a week (with potential to build to three ) Days and pay are negotiable but prefer Wednesdays and Thursdays. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis, and treatment plans. This role involves working closely with patients of all ages, ensuring exceptional patient care, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Associate Optometrist will utilize Vision R-800 refraction systems (easy to learn) and OPTOS to deliver efficient and effective eye health services while adhering to HIPAA regulations. The position is for an independent contractor inside LensCrafters in the Altamonte Mall . Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations utilizing up-to-date ophthalmology techniques and equipment Assess patient vital signs and perform relevant tests to determine eye health status Diagnose visual or ocular conditions and develop appropriate treatment or referral plans Maintain detailed and accurate medical records , ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards Educate patients on eye health, proper use of corrective lenses, and preventive care strategies Apply medical terminology accurately in documentation and communication with healthcare teams Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety Collaborate with other healthcare professionals on complex cases involving physiology, anatomy, or pediatrics Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, medical coding, and healthcare regulations Qualifications Valid license as an Optometrist with state licensing requirements met Experience or strong knowledge in ophthalmology, optical care, and patient care practices Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA compliance standards Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently This position offers an engaging opportunity for a passionate healthcare professional committed to delivering high-quality eye care services in a supportive clinical setting.
