Duties Conduct thorough ophthalmic patient examinations, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and assessment of ocular health using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment. Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions and disease states, utilizing medical terminology and healthcare diagnosis skills to develop effective treatment strategies. Perform contact lens fittings, including evaluation of fit, comfort, and vision correction needs. Document detailed medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Provide ophthalmic consultations, educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options while maintaining excellent client communication and customer service standards. Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage disease states, interpret vital signs, and coordinate care plans for optimal patient outcomes. Skills Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, including anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic diagnosis techniques. Experience with optical systems, contact lens fitting procedures. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on delivering compassionate patient care and education. Ability to operate medical equipment safely while maintaining aseptic technique standards in clinical settings.
