$125-150 per hour, based on experience

Location:

On site at FCC Pollock, 1000 Airbase Road, Pollock, LA (near Alexandria)

Time Commitment:

7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, on site, except for Federal holidays. 40 hrs/week with flexibility to accommodate the Optometrist's schedule as needed.

Start Date:

Fall 2026 (timing is flexible based on candidate availability)

This role provides optometry care for adults in a federal correctional clinic. Applicants should email recruiting@10xg.com with a resume and should answer: In what state are you currently licensed to practice optometry? Can you pass a background check? Do you have prior correctional, VA, IHS, or other government clinic experience, and if so, in what capacity? Has your optometry license ever been disciplined, restricted, suspended, revoked, or otherwise subject to a board action or open investigation? If yes, please explain briefly. Evaluate adults referred by medical staff, including eye exams as requested Diagnose eye conditions and document physical findings in clear written reports Perform tonometry exams and remove foreign objects from the eye when needed Recommend treatment and follow-up care, and prescribe corrective lenses and frames Fit eyeglasses and adjust frames; adjust exam equipment as needed Complete about 15 to 20 scheduled exams per day Document each exam in the facility electronic medical record Additional Information /
