ABOUT IBERIA COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER
Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including vision care. ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time Staff Optometrist for its Vision Center location.
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT
The Staff Optometrist renders safe, quality eye care to patients. The Staff Optometrist is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability of the delivery and management of patient eye care. The Staff Optometrists assess patients' eyes to identify vision defects, diseases, and injuries. Their duties include maintaining medical files, evaluating eye defects, recording treatment plans, and performing eye inspections. The Staff Optometrist prescribes medications, assists in supervision of optical support staff, and performs related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an approved and accredited Optometry School Licenses, registration and/or certifications are required to be in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and/or regulations. Staff Optometrist must be licensed to practice Optometry in the State of Louisiana, possess a Doctorate of Optometry Degree and Federal and State DEA Certificates Board Certification recommended Community Health Center and management experience helpful
