The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in eye health, patient care, and optical services, with a commitment to improving visual wellness. As an Optometrist, you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and provide personalized vision solutions. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing patients' quality of life through exceptional eye care services delivered in a professional and compassionate manner. Duties Perform thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity and ocular health. Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive errors. Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, tailored to individual patient needs. Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options to promote informed decision-making. Collaborate with ophthalmology specialists for complex cases requiring advanced intervention or surgical consultation. Utilize physiology and anatomy knowledge to interpret diagnostic results accurately and develop effective treatment plans. Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control. Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, optical technology, and medical coding practices to provide up-to-date care. Skills Strong understanding of ophthalmology principles, including ocular physiology and anatomy. Extensive optical experience with proficiency in fitting and adjusting corrective lenses. Knowledge of pediatric eye care to effectively serve patients across all age groups. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and empathetic communication. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record management. Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately for diagnosis and treatment documentation. Competence in medical coding related to optometry procedures for billing purposes. Awareness of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Effective sales skills for promoting optical products while maintaining ethical standards.
