In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis of ocular conditions, and treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Your expertise will help improve patients' vision and overall eye health while ensuring exceptional patient care and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient education, and a commitment to advancing eye health through innovative practices. Duties Perform detailed ophthalmic examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic imaging equipment and tonometry to assess eye health and detect disease states. Conduct ophthalmic diagnosis and evaluate vital signs to determine appropriate treatment strategies. Fit contact lenses and recommend corrective eyewear solutions based on individual needs. Manage disease states such as glaucoma, cataracts, or diabetic retinopathy through medical treatment plans and patient education. Operate medical equipment with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. Document all findings accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, maintaining comprehensive medical records. Provide ophthalmic consultations, explain diagnoses clearly, and communicate treatment options effectively to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care, perform ophthalmic patient examinations, and manage complex cases involving physiology knowledge and medical terminology. Support sales efforts by recommending appropriate optical products while ensuring compliance with medical coding standards for billing purposes. Experience Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry with a strong background in optical experience and patient care. Hands-on experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment, tonometry devices, and other medical instruments essential for eye examinations. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient interactions and medical records management. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes related to eye health; ability to diagnose common ocular conditions confidently. Experience fitting contact lenses, performing ophthalmic diagnostics, and managing disease states within a clinical setting. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on delivering compassionate care and building trust with diverse patient populations. Ability to adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines, maintain aseptic techniques during procedures, and operate medical equipment safely.
