The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis of eye diseases, and the management of ocular health. As an Optometrist at our practice, you will play a crucial role in practicing full scope Optometry to provide effective patient care and education. Responsibilities Conduct thorough and comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions. Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids based on patient needs. Monitor and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices, technologies, products and medical terminology. Skills Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and systems relevant to eye care. Understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and ocular health. Solid knowledge of physiology as it pertains to visual function and health. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
