As a CPO, you will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient care while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and biomechanical evaluations, to determine appropriate orthotic or prosthetic interventions. Design, fit, adjust, and repair custom orthotic and prosthetic devices tailored to individual patient needs, ensuring optimal comfort and functionality. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment plans that align with patient goals. Educate patients on device usage, maintenance, and care techniques to promote independence and confidence in managing their devices. Maintain detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, device modifications, and progress notes in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Stay current with advances in orthotics and prosthetics through continuing medical education (CME) training to incorporate innovative practices into patient care. Provide direct patient care in clinical settings while demonstrating excellent client communication skills to foster trust and understanding. Requirements Certification as a Prosthetist-Orthotist (CPO) from an accredited program with valid licensure or registration where applicable. Demonstrated post-residency experience in orthotic and prosthetic fitting, adjustment, and fabrication processes. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and medical terminology relevant to orthotics and prosthetics. Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable. Proficiency in conducting physical assessments, client communication, and clinical interprofessional collaboration.
