POTENTIAL
opportunity for a civilian Paramedic with DMT training at Naval Support Activity in Panama City, FL.Job Requirements:
Degree/Education :
Possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent. Certifications in addition toBasic Life Support :
1. Current National EMT-P Certification (National Registry) or state license at the EMT-Paramedic level, or higher. 2. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support training. If assigned at the Naval Support Activity Panama City, FL Operating Location the member must meet the Dive Medical Technician (DMT) training requirements and/or will be required to complete DMT training through the localSWTW 350
Training Squadron, Detachment 1- Dive School, within 60 days of employment.
Qualifications :
Designated Dive Medical Technician & inside tender, graduate of one of the following DoD formal courses: USMC Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman, US Army Dive Medical Technician course, or US navy Diving Medical Technician course currently CPR certification, EMT-P, or formally trained U.S. Military medic.Training :
Familiar and able to access medical data systems (MHS Genesis, ASIMS, AIMWTS, PEPP, & HAIMS). Experience with Medical Records review to include military diving and quality control (DD2807, DD2808, and DD2766C, Dental, PHA, and Pressure Test Verification). Physical Requirements forLocation :
Naval Station, Panama City, FL:
May be required to pass all standards on the Navy Physical Readiness Test current revision & conduct medical recompression chamber duties.Experience:
Three (3) years of experience as Paramedic within the last five (5)Board Certification :
Successful completion of a CAAHEP- accredited Paramedic program (or a program that has been issued a CoAEMSP "Letter of Review") within the past two (2) years.
Licensure/Registration :
All Paramedics who started their Paramedic education program after August 1, 2016 are required to successfully complete a psychomotor competency portfolio.Core Duties:
1. Assess a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment per local protocol. 2. Provide triage for student(s) incapable to perform in training due to medical and musculoskeletal reasons. Triage will be used to determine- If student is stable refer all medical conditions to the base Flight Medicine Clinic
- If student is stable with exclusively musculoskeletal condition refer to Athletic Trainers for assessment and reconditioning
- If student is unstable will activate Emergency Management System (EMS) and arrange for transport to nearest emergency center.
