Job Description
Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to deliver high-quality emergency care across our Georgia service area. In this field-based role, you will respond to 911 and interfacility calls, perform advanced life support, and transport patients safely to appropriate facilities. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams using advanced medical technology in a culture centered on compassion, safety, diversity, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Respond rapidly to 911 and interfacility calls and assess patient condition on scene and en route Perform advanced life support interventions per Georgia and Wellstar protocols Safely operate and navigate emergency vehicles in varied traffic and weather conditions Administer medications, IV/IO therapy, airway management, and cardiac monitoring Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in electronic medical records Communicate clearly with dispatch, EMS partners, nurses, and physicians for seamless handoff Maintain, check, and restock medical equipment, medications, and vehicle readiness Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards to protect patients and crew Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive support to patients and families in crisis Participate in ongoing training, simulations, and performance improvement initiatives Required Skills Advanced Life Support (ALS) Pre-hospital patient assessment Cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation Airway management (including advanced airways) IV/IO access and medication administration Trauma management and stabilization Emergency vehicle operation Electronic medical record documentation Infection control and safety protocols Effective radio and interpersonal communication
