Job Description

Piedmont Healthcare Midtown is seeking a Paramedic to join our fast-paced Emergency Department. In this role, you will deliver advanced pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency care, performing rapid assessment, triage, and interventions under physician and RN direction. Responsibilities include initiating IVs, administering approved medications, obtaining EKGs, supporting airway management, and safely transporting patients within the facility. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, document care in the EMR, maintain equipment readiness, and uphold Piedmont's standards of safety, compassion, and patient-centered care while growing through ongoing training. Responsibilities Provide emergency assessment, triage, and advanced life support in the ED under physician/RN direction Initiate IV lines, administer approved medications, and obtain EKGs and vital signs Assist with airway management, CPR, and resuscitation during medical and trauma emergencies Safely transport and position patients within the hospital, ensuring comfort and safety Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMRCommunicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and proper function of emergency equipment and supplies Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times Participate in ongoing training, simulations, and professional development opportunities Demonstrate Piedmont's values of respect, teamwork, and patient-centered care in all interactions Required Skills Advanced life support (ALS) procedures IV insertion and medication administration EKG acquisition and interpretation basics Airway management and oxygen therapy Emergency patient assessment and triage Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Operation of emergency medical equipment CPR and resuscitation techniques Trauma and medical emergency management Infection control and safety protocols
