The City of Toledo is seeking to fill a full-time position. EMT applicants must be willing to advance to the paramedic level. AEMT candidates will be strongly encouraged to advance to the paramedic level. Paramedic education will be paid, with contractual agreement, by the Toledo Ambulance Service. Our service provides emergent and non-emergent services to Toledo and the surrounding area with a combination of paid and volunteer staffing. Ambulances are equipped with the latest state of the art equipment including: CPAP/transport ventilator, LifePak 15, LUCAS device and power load Stryker cots. The position will have varying hours due to the dynamic nature of EMS. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to function independently in the field while providing a high standard of patient care in both the emergent and non-emergent setting. The ability to interact in a profession manner with patients, other staff members, and the general public is a must.

Other duties to include:

vehicle and equipment checks, restocking, and other light station duties. Certification required in the State of Iowa, current BLS certification and valid Iowa driver's license, with safe driving record and insurable by the city. PALS and ACLS required for paramedic level. Uniform allowance and continuing education provided. IPERS retirement available. Pay:

$21.00 - $28.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
