Location:
Providence Medical Center—Kansas City, KS The Emergency Department (ED) Paramedic provides advanced life support (ALS) and emergency patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and trauma teams, the ED Paramedic performs patient assessments, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions for trauma, stroke, STEMI, respiratory distress, and other critical conditions. https://www.primehealthcare.com/careers/benefits/ Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to): Perform patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and report findings to the care team. Assist physicians and nurses with emergency, trauma, and critical care interventions. Administer medications, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, EKGs, and other treatments within scope of practice. Respond to Code Blue, trauma, stroke, STEMI, and other emergency activations. Assist with patient triage, specimen collection, splinting, wound care, and other clinical procedures. Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record. Maintain equipment, supplies, and treatment areas to ensure department readiness. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
You must have:
Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Kansas. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current. PALS and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.
