Strong problem-solving and operational decision-making abilities Minimum Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent North Carolina EMT-Paramedic Credential ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 Completion of an established Field Training Methodology Course Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and Ninth Brain platform Cleared QRV Medic One year experience as an EMS Paramedic Crew Chief Two years' experience as a North Carolina Credentialed Paramedic working within a 911 prehospital system Completion of EMS Officer I course (preferred) Associate's degree in EMS, Emergency Management, Public Safety or another related field (Preferred) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service and provide excellent ALS level care using all current protocols, equipment, and vehicles. Train, coach, and evaluate employees progressing through the clearance process. Supervise EMT-Basic direct reports and complete annual performance evaluations for those personnel. Serve as liaison between Quality Management and shift supervision, ensuring effective communication and documentation. Perform duties of Medic I and provide advanced prehospital medical care. Serve as acting EMS Captain when assigned, overseeing operations in a designated response area. Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to junior EMS personnel. Assist with development and implementation of training plans, remediation plans, and operational improvement initiatives. Conduct field performance evaluations and deliver training assessments. Ensure compliance with Forsyth County EMS protocols, quality assurance expectations, and operational guidelines. Complete assigned projects and initiatives from EMS Battalion Chiefs or EMS Captains. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to training, supervisory actions, and patient care. Participate in continuing education, leadership development programs, and departmental initiatives. Must be able to lift, carry, and move patients and equipment in excess of 100 lbs with assistance. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching during emergency response activities.
