About New Mexico Military Institute:

The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, co- educational institution offering college preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited and prepares students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8.

Position:

The Paramedic works variable hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed. Must provide high- quality emergency and non-emergency medical care to cadets, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus. The Paramedic will report directly to the NMMI Director of Nursing and is responsible for performing all duties within the scope of a licensed Paramedic in the state of New Mexico, with a special emphasis on advanced airway management and emergency response. This is a non-exempt, 10-month, part-time position, not to exceed 29 hours per week. Hourly rate will be determined based on certification and experience. Tasks:

Essential Skills:

• Provide immediate assessment and treatment of ill or
• Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, injured individuals on campus. and cardiology to recognize and manage life-threatening
• Perform advanced airway management, including conditions. endotracheal intubation, supraglottic airway

Qualifications:

Required:

• Current certification as a Paramedic (EMT-P) by the State of New Mexico and/or National Registry (NREMT-P).
• Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; PALS preferred.
• Demonstrated competence and recent experience in advanced airway management in prehospital or clinical settings.

Preferred:

• Experience with adolescents/young adults or military academy environment.
• Instructor certifications in CPR, ACLS, or PALS.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Bilingual.
