Miami Valley North The Paramedic is a certified paramedic who partners with and advocates for patients, families, and significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The paramedic functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence. The paramedic performs duties under the direction of a licensed Emergency Physician and utilizes evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The Paramedic collaborates with the inter-professional team to provide quality care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards. The Paramedic performs tasks within the ED and may transport patients to other areas of the hospital.

Education Minimum Level of Education Required:

High School completion/ GED Additional requirements: Type of degree: Successful completion of an accredited paramedic programSuccessful completion of an accredited paramedic program.

Area of study or major:

Paramedic Licensure/Certification/Registration Must hold valid Paramedic certification from Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS. BLS and ACLS certification required at the time of hire. Will be required to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year from date of hire or as soon as class availability permits.
