Foxwall EMS provides 9-1-1 response to the boroughs of Fox Chapel and Aspinwall, as well as a dedicated BLS non-emergency transport line. Paramedics typically work on the front-line 9-1-1 truck, but are eligible to pick up transport shifts for overtime and/or incentive pay. Foxwall paramedics benefit from engaged and progressive medical direction and excellent equipment, including Stryker powercot and powerload system accross the fleet, Lucas devices, Sapphire IV pumps, video laryngoscopes, Zoll Z-Vent, and Lifepack 15 & 35. 9-1-1 call volume averages 3 calls per 24-hour period. The first-due district is residential with a small business corridor, wooded trails and parks, and a stretch of highway. The station is adjacent to a park and crews enjoy separate bunk rooms and access to free laundry facilities while on shift. We are looking for a full-time paramedic 32-40 hours per week. 8, 12, 16, and 24-hour shifts are available. Full time requires 32-40 hours weekly. Paramedic/PHRN rates are $23.50
50/hour with prorated credit for experience and education, including EMT or AEMT experience and college degrees. Benefits include UPMC Health Insurance (full-time) and 401k with match after one year, PTO, and EAP. Dental and vision coverage are available via payroll deduction.
Requirements:
- Physical and cognitive ability to perform the role of paramedic.
- Progressive clinical approach and positive attitude.
- PA Paramedic certification with EMSVO endorsement.
- Ability to obtain UPMC Command.
BLS/ACLS/PALS
