Purpose:
This instructor position will assist Paramedic Program Director in the planning and execution of all Paramedic Education Programs. They will be responsible for direct classroom instruction of students enrolled in EMT Programs.
Responsibilities:
Cover all of the material assigned by the Paramedic Program Director in accordance with the Department of Health and DOT Guidelines. Develop and administer regular quizzes and homework assignments. Inform the Paramedic Program Director when individual students are failing to make satisfactory academic progress. Serve as a role model for professional attitudes and behavior. If you are unable to cover all of the material, inform the Coordinator of EMS Education as early as possible to assure that other arrangements can be made. Monitor the students' progress and provide reasonable supplemental instruction and/or individual tutoring if students are having difficulty with the course content. Preview all examinations prior to administration. Administer standardized examinations as scheduled. Begin and end all classes on time. Under no circumstances should classes be rescheduled without the approval of the Paramedic Program Director. Maintain student and class records in a standardized manner. Conduct your class in accordance with all Center, State, Federal and AMA training standards. Provide students with constructive feedback, direction, and counseling. Grade all quizzes, examinations, and student assignments in a timely manner. High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as an allied health provider, registered nurse or licensed physician. Knowledge and experience in the use of personal computers. Strong knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheets required. Demonstration of excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstration of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstration of a professional manner and appearance. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
