Hours:
Monday-Friday (4:30 PM - 8:00 AM); Weekends & Holidays (24-hour shifts, 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM).
Requirements :
Must remain in a ready state during on-call shift in accordance with Estella Health/CMTS Policies. Reside within a 45 minute response radius of Warwrick, RI and keep the company phone on and ready at all times.
Essential Duties:
- Provide safe and effective mobile health-based medical care at the advanced life support level.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Complete patient care documentation in a timely and comprehensive fashion and obtain. information to facilitate reimbursement for all patients treated, when appropriate.
- Adhere to and value Estella Health policies and procedures.
- Maintain clinical proficiency and knowledge base. Retrieve, stock, and clean medical equipment.
- Clean, organize, and restock vehicles following each shift, as necessary.
- Reports to assigned shifts punctually in a complete, clean uniform.
- Protect the privacy of all protected health information in accordance with Estella Health policies, procedures, and practices as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with the general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
- Accepts responsibility for maintaining certification / recertification as a paramedic in the State of Rhode Island; completes appropriate continuing education courses in a timely fashion; remains current in certification of basic life support / CPR at the healthcare provider level

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or other equivalent.
- Currently certified and in good standing as a paramedic by the State of Rhode Island, Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS).
- Current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association)
- Current Advanced Life Support certification (American Heart Association)
- Current motor vehicle operator's license
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions using the English language.
Physical Requirements:
- The physical demands of the position require physical strength and dexterity along with the ability to function in adverse environments with potential exposure to numerous health and safety risks inherent in mobile healthcare and the healthcare environment.
It is expected that after performance of any or all the physical requirements described below would not hinder the clinician's ability to perform patient care.
- The ability to walk a distance of ¼ mile without difficulty.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs without difficulty.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend / stoop, crouch / kneel, reach, push / pull, and grasp in a variety of circumstances and positions to facilitate patient movement and provide care. Clinical Role & Goals
Objective:
Provide urgent (non-emergent) care to stable, chronically ill patients (e.g., COPD or CHF exacerbations) to treat them at home and prevent hospitalizations.
Scope:
Administer standard EMS protocol treatments (e.g., IV Lasix) while collaborating via telemedicine with an on-call provider (MD/NP/PA).
Transport:
This is not a 911 replacement. If a patient requires hospitalization, activate traditional EMS. Responders do not transport patients under any circumstance.
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
