A school is seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate care and expertise in a supportive educational environment through the end of this academic year. This contract opportunity offers you a private nurse's office on campus, where you will act as a trusted healthcare provider for adolescents, supporting their physical well-being so they can thrive in their studies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid RN license or Certified School Nurse credential recognized by the state of Rhode Island Experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred Able to effectively assess, triage, and treat students with a variety of health concerns Proficient in medication administration and documentation Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families Ability to work independently in a busy school setting
Responsibilities:
Operate the campus health office, providing direct nursing care to students who feel unwell or are injured Administer prescription and non-prescription medications in accordance with district guidelines Maintain confidential health records and ensure all documentation is completed accurately Communicate and collaborate with school staff, parents, and community healthcare providers as needed Monitor chronic health conditions and provide first aid or emergency care when required Educate students and staff about wellness, hygiene, and health promotion This role is vital in supporting a healthy learning environment, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing your expertise impacts the daily lives of students.
