Job Description

Paramedic- Full-time Critical Response EMS | 48/96 schedule Summary Critical Response EMS is seeking a skilled paramedic to provide advanced life support in emergency and non-emergency settings. The paramedic leads patient assessment, performs advanced interventions, administers medications, interprets EKGs, and ensures safe transport to the appropriate facility. The position requires clinical competence, sound judgment, and the ability to remain composed in high-stress conditions. This is a full-time position on a 48/96 schedule: 48 hours on duty followed by 96 hours off. Compensation is $65,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience. Equipment Utilized Ferno X2 stretcher Zoll X Series Monitor Zoll EMV Ventilator Sapphire IV Pumps Essential duties and responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and drive emergency vehicles in all road conditions, including inclement weather, dense traffic, and rural settings. Follow all applicable driving laws and departmental policies and procedures. Use communication equipment appropriately and communicate with dispatch, EMS crews, first responders, and other agencies according to policy. Maintain vehicles, equipment, and supplies in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness. Complete daily vehicle and supply checks, assist with resupply and decontamination, and report discrepancies in writing. Provide patient care within the medical director's authorization and protocols, and demonstrate clinical competency in all patient-care situations. Lift, carry, extricate, and transport patients in all settings, including without assistance when required. Coordinate with police, fire, and first responder agencies. Provide professional service in all patient, family, and agency contacts. Complete patient care reports, billing information, and related documentation accurately and on time. Work under physically and psychologically demanding conditions, including weather extremes, hazardous environments, noise, fatigue, and high-stress calls. Perform duties with potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, chemicals, sharps, and trip or fall hazards. Pass the departmental skills evaluation and adhere to company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, including station upkeep and special projects. Physical requirements Lift, carry, balance, and push up to 150 pounds, or 300 pounds with assistance. Bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive lifting, stooping, and kneeling. Demonstrate the manual dexterity required for clinical skills, including intravenous access and intubation. Have correctable vision adequate to read street signs, function in low light, and read small print. Psychological requirements Exercise sound judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations. Maintain a professional manner under adverse conditions. Use effective interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. Function during extended shifts with limited rest, temperature extremes, and inclement weather. Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED. Current paramedic certification in the State of Texas. Current CPR certification. Ability to communicate effectively and to read, write, and interpret instructions in English. Valid Texas driver's license and an insurable driving record. National Registry certification and prior field experience are preferred. Candidates must successfully complete the departmental skills evaluation.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
