The Respiratory Therapy Assistant supports respiratory services by preparing equipment, assisting with patient transport, stocking supplies, performing non-licensed patient care activities, and ensuring the readiness of respiratory equipment throughout the hospital.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Work Experience:

High School Diploma or GED. Hospital experience is preferred Experience working in emergency medical services, healthcare, or patient care environments.

License/Registration/Certification:

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) Preferred.

Education and Training:

Current Texas EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic certification (or state equivalent).

Skills :

Knowledge of basic respiratory anatomy and physiology. Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment safely. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced acute care environment. Basic computer skills and electronic medical record proficiency. Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and promptly notify licensed staff.
