SUMMARY:
Immediate response to both emergent and non-emergent calls for assistance. Delivers high quality care in
a professional, caring and cost-effective manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Stands by in readiness to respond to emergencies during a 24-hour tour of duty
Responds to emergency calls in accordance to policies and guidelines
Assesses situation and need for assistance
Determines most effective method of emergency treatment
Applies basic and/or advanced life support or other appropriate treatment to victims(s)/guest(s);
administers drugs as appropriate
Undertakes appropriate invasive procedures
Advises hospital personnel of situation
Transport injured or ill to hospital for further treatment
Participates in ER care per protocol or physician direction
Maintains records, files, logs
Maintains and re-supplies vehicle
Responsible for all aspects of station/unit care and cleaning

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a current Texas DSHS Paramedic certification.
Must possess a valid Texas drivers license.
Associates degree preferred. Documented experience as a lead medic preferred. One-year
experience providing EMS care preferred.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or obtain within three months of hire..
