Scope of Position:
The Welcome Center Navigator is the welcoming face of each American Job Center. The Welcome Center Navigator not only greets customers but supports them on their path to self-sufficiency by helping them develop and enact their employment plan. The Welcome Center Navigation ensures that the AJC Navigators are able to develop enrollment pipelines by keeping consistent records of interactions and assisting with the intake process.
Essential Functions:
Greet all customers as they arrive at the American Job Center Ensure that the customer has a completed profile in the system of record, based on internal procedure Assist customers with identifying the best method for meeting their employment goals, either through enrollment in AJC programs, or referrals to partner programs. Support the WIOA intake process Ensure that AJC staff is aware of customer arrivals and confirm appointments based on team member calendars by phone Assist with the Call Center as needed and document interactions Provide details on referrals made in the system of record Present at designated WIOA Information Sessions (CSIS) Complete daily walk-in data Assist Navigation Manager in meeting enrollment and outreach goals Provide support to Work Experience customers who are learning customer service at the AJC front desk as assigned Working with their leader to identify additional supports and provide direct support for those tasks Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
Excellent communication skills both in-person and phone Excellent interpersonal skills A pattern of excellence in customer service Knowledge of deescalation techniques Exceptional attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities within a day Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Strong data entry skills A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
