Job description Harnos Optometry an established Optometry practice in New Paltz, looking for a full-time front desk person. We are seeking an individual who is experienced working in a medical practice, very personable and fast learner.
Job Type:
5 days per week.
Schedule:
36 hours per week Monday
  • Thursday > 8:45AM
  • 1:00PM > Closed for lunch 1:00
  • 1:55 > 2:00PM
  • 5:00PM. Friday 7:45AM
  • 3:00
PM Pay:
$16.00
  • $17.
50 Negotiable based on work experience

Responsibilities Patient Interaction:
Schedule patient visits: Efficiently manage and coordinate patient appointments to ensure smooth office operations both by phone, text messaging and in person.
Greet patients:
Welcome patients warmly, assist with check-in procedures, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Answer patient questions:
Provide clear and helpful responses to patient inquiries regarding appointments, treatments, and office policies.
Provide contact lens training:
Instruct patients on the proper insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident.
Communication:
Answer phones: Handle incoming and outgoing calls professionally, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls to the appropriate staff members.
Coordinate patient requests:
Communicate patient needs and requests to providers, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Insurance and Billing:
Verify insurance eligibility: Confirm patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments, ensuring accurate billing and minimizing claim denials.
Insurance verification:
Conduct thorough insurance verifications to confirm patient coverage and benefits and communicate any issues to patients and providers.
Handle patient fees:
Manage patient billing, including processing payments, answering billing questions, and addressing any discrepancies.
Office Operations:
Facilitate patient flow: Ensure efficient patient flow within the office by coordinating with providers and staff to minimize wait times and optimize appointment schedules.
Utilize computer systems:
Use office software and electronic health records (EHR) systems for scheduling, patient management, and documentation.
Adapt to changing tasks:
Be flexible and adaptable to changing job responsibilities and office needs, demonstrating a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Contact Lens Management:
Manage contact lens orders: Oversee the ordering and inventory of contact lenses for patients, including trial lenses and regular supplies, ensuring timely delivery and accurate records.
Maintain contact lens room:
Keep the contact lens room organized and clean, manage inventory, and ensure all supplies are readily available.
Optometric Testing:
Perform optometric vision tests: Conduct optometric tests such as Optos, OCT, and Visual field tests, with training provided to ensure proficiency.
