Overview:
Job Summary:
Transports patients to and from the OPS in a safe and efficient manner. Assists in getting patients on and off of the stretcher. Maintains effective communication regarding patient status to appropriate personnel. Maintains courteous communication with patients, their families and the Public. Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital's mission, vision and values . Provide patient escort services within the hospital for the Outpatient Surgery Department. Cooperates and communicates well with all health team members to maintain the highest quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Is knowledgeable of how to safely and correctly operate and maintain transport equipment. Is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive impression of Decatur Morgan Hospital by proactively approaching, greeting, and acknowledging all customers in a friendly, professional manner and providing quick and responsive customer service. Work as part of a care team to effectively communicate with patients, families, coworkers and physicians. Transports patients and families to or from assigned room or department, in a safe, comfortable, courteous and efficient manner. Completes other duties or tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize work day and environment to provide high quality patient care. Able to handle multiple requests and work in a potentially stressful environment.
