Mobility Escort/Driver - Part-Time, On-Call Ally Mobility - Non-Emergency Transportation Ally Mobility provides compassionate and reliable non-emergency transportation for individuals who need assistance traveling to and from appointments and other destinations. Many of our passengers use wheelchairs or gurneys. We are seeking a dependable and caring Mobility Escort/Driver to assist with passenger transportation. The primary responsibility is assisting the assigned driver and passengers. However, depending on operational needs, you may also be assigned to drive while another team member assists. This is a part-time, on-call position. Hours vary based on dispatch needs and are not guaranteed. Typical weekly hours range from 0-30 hours, depending on trip volume. Key Responsibilities Assist the driver with transporting wheelchair and gurney passengers Occasionally operate company vehicles based on scheduling and dispatch needs Help passengers safely board and exit the vehicle Properly secure wheelchairs, gurneys, and mobility equipment Provide light mobility assistance and passenger support Accompany passengers between the vehicle and designated pickup or drop-off locations Monitor passenger safety and comfort during transport Assist with navigation, loading, unloading, and trip coordination Communicate professionally with passengers, families, facilities, and dispatch Follow all driving, transportation safety, and company protocols Complete accurate trip and service documentation Required Qualifications Flexible, part-time, on-call availability Minimum of one year of experience driving vans or trucks Valid California Non-Commercial Class C driver's license Clean driving record and consistently safe driving habits CPR/BLS certification Experience assisting elderly individuals or people with mobility limitations Ability to safely push wheelchairs and assist with gurneys Strong communication and customer-service skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Compassionate, patient, reliable, and attentive Must pass a background check Ability to commute to Santa Clara, California Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience in non-emergency medical transportation, patient transport, caregiving, or a related role Experience transporting or assisting wheelchair-bound and gurney passengers Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
