Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Resource Coordinator - Patient Escort to support the daily operations of a busy Patient Transport department. This individual will coordinate patient transportation activities, assist with dispatcher scheduling and training, monitor transport performance metrics, and provide hands-on patient transport support during high-volume periods. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient service while ensuring efficient department operations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily patient transportation activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely movement of patients throughout the facility. Monitor transport requests and prioritize assignments using an electronic patient transport system. Generate and maintain departmental reports, including transport response times, productivity, and operational metrics. Assist with employee scheduling, including daily staffing adjustments and long-term schedule planning. Support employee timekeeping and reporting using Kronos or a similar workforce management system. Identify and communicate urgent transport situations involving patients, blood products, specimens, or other time-sensitive items. Perform patient transport duties during periods of increased volume or staffing shortages. Provide dispatcher coverage as needed by entering transport requests, adjusting priorities, managing employee breaks, and coordinating appointments. Assist with onboarding and training of new dispatchers and patient escorts. Maintain accurate documentation while adhering to departmental policies and safety standards. Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting professionally with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and patient relations experience. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance record. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. No lifting restrictions. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Willingness to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the required timeframe after hire. Preferred Previous experience in patient transport, dispatch, patient access, environmental services, or another healthcare support role. Experience using electronic transport management systems such as TeleTracking (TTI). Experience with Kronos or other workforce management/timekeeping systems. Experience coordinating schedules or leading teams in a healthcare environment. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare setting.
