Patient Sitter AHS Vista LLC Waukegan, IL Job Details Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications CPR Certification BLS Certification High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Summary Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Sitter to provide close observation of patients in order to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment. The Patient Sitter works closely with the nursing team to promote patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction while upholding our standards of excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain continuous visual observation of assigned patients; never leave a patient unattended unless directed by a nurse. Receive verbal reports from caregivers regarding patient needs, conditions, and special precautions. Follow nurse instructions for patient mobility and redirection strategies. Accompany patients for tests or procedures when required; remain within arm's length unless otherwise directed. Observe patient behavior and promptly communicate changes or concerns to the nursing staff. Support patient comfort and maintain a safe, orderly environment. Respond to unit needs and emergencies as directed, including assisting as a runner or in patient transport. Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, families, and staff. Accurately document observations and notify the RN of any significant behavioral or clinical changes. Comply with hospital policies, privacy standards, and infection control measures. Perform other duties as assigned.
