Performs cleaning of all areas and furniture within the surgical suite, perioperative and related areas. Assists the schedule coordinator with transportation of patients, pick-up and delivery.   • Walking, transporting patients, specimens to lab, mopping floors, errands for the department.
  • Assembling, furniture, beds, traction.
  • Lifting, equipment (50 lbs), patients (100 lbs), extremities (30 lbs), supplies and linens (25 lbs). Pushing and pulling equipment (500 lbs), patient charts and beds (600 lbs), wheel chairs, OR tables, mop floors.
  • Crouching, crawling, kneeling, and stooping. Cleaning of OR Rooms.
  • Reaching, transfer patient from cart to bed, high dusting, and removing supplies from shelves.
  • Restraining patients.
  • Ability to take call.
  • Set up traction, clean operating rooms. Essential Mental Abilities
  • Interpret data.
  • Check charts for pre-op requirements and patient identification.
  • Comprehend instructions, preps, and routine orders, with minimum amount of supervision or explanation.
  • Explain/Communicate. Instructions and information to patients and families.
  • Evaluate.
  • Priority of functions that need to be done with minimal help.
  • Memory.
  • Function independently with minimal instruction.
  • Follow rules/instructions.
  • Policies/procedures of department with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability, able to move from one function to another independently. Essential Sensory Requirements
  • Visual skills.
  • Must be able to see, to read to identify patient, patient chart.
  • Hearing department house and beeper pages, ability to communicate with patient, families and staff. Exposure to Hazards
  • Blood and body fluids, cleaning compounds, surgical chemical compounds, radiation, anesthesia waste gasses, wet floors.
