Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs patient transport duties for all areas of UNC Health SE utilizing appropriate transport vehicle. Coordinates and schedules transport as needed between patient floor and areas of UNC Health SE in order to facilitate patient care and multiple procedures. Monitors and coordinates with nursing regarding status of O2, IV, suction etc. as needed for appropriate and safe care during transport. Provides for patient comfort and safety during transport. Performs basic cleaning of wheelchairs and stretchers. Monitors O2 tanks and stocks as needed to ensure adequate supply for transport. Performs basic clerical functions such as filing and telephone answering. Responsibility to adhere to UNC Health SE rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING andEXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Incumbent must attain BCLS certification within 3 months of hire; recertification required every 2 years.
- Capable of learning to utilize patient tracking system software.
