The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.Job Overview:
The Patient Transporter ensures safe patient handling and moves patients within the hospital from time of admission until discharge. Regular attendance and punctuality are required to carry out the essential functions of this position. Candidates for this role must be able to handle a fast paced and physical environment.Qualifications:
Required:
Successful completion of site personnel general orientation Successful completion of department orientation Social and Communication skillsPreferred:
High School Diploma or equivalentScheduling Requirements:
Overnights 10:30pm-7:00am Days vary with a rotation of weekends and holidaysFull Time Essential Functions:
Assist patients in and out of beds with the support of a nurse or PCT Ensures patients are comfortable and safe during transit Transport patients to and from appropriate units or Imaging Modalities within expected time frames Maintains regular and open communications with Transport Dispatcher and utilizes the automated system in a timely and accurate manner to notify of receipt of task, changes or delays in transport, and completion of tasks to assist with patient throughput Assist with bed management throughout the hospital such as organizing the beds, cleaning the beds, removing oxygen tanks once the beds are no longer in use Follows established isolation protocol in use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand washing hygiene Transporter must always use two patient identifiers to correctly identify patient Must sign in and out of logbook Must print ticket to ride Must notify nursing staff when patient arrives on the unitBenefits and Perks:
