Job Details:
To provide assistance to maximize care to the patient and families throughout the hospital.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for interdepartmental transfer and transport of patients with emphasis on safety, prioritization and effective time management. Conveys communications between ancillary departments and nursing floors. Assures that all O2 tanks are in operational condition on all units and are replaced as needed. Familiar with set up, removal and storage of all traction equipment. Able to assume responsibility for the delivery of supplies; i.e., lifting devices and central supplies. Demonstrates cooperation with the shift Supervisor. Maintains a safe and neat environment in areas they are responsible for; i.e., orderly closet, oxygen storage area located on loading dock. Assists in emergency situations; i.e., assists in lifting patient after fall, helps with patients who require sitters, etc. Understands isolation/standard precautions. Performs any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE
Previous hospital employment preferred.
EDUCATION
High School Graduate or equivalency
