Maintains patient safety by:
direct supervision, reorienting and redirecting confused patient, following safety standards (i.e. hand hygiene, isolation precautions, fall prevention, suicide precautions) and keeping the environment hazard free. Communicates with nurse any changes in patient behavior or condition. Communicates effectively with patient and family. Assists patient with basic hygiene, comfort, meal set up, etc. Operates bed controls, TV, call light system, and bed/chair alarms. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education High School Equivalent / GED (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic.
