This role works closely with nurses, physicians, anesthesia providers, and other team members to facilitate efficient patient flow and deliver an exceptional patient experience. Essential Responsibilities Patient Transportation Safely transport patients to and from pre-operative, procedure, recovery, and discharge areas. Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and safety during all transports. Assist patients with mobility needs while following established safety protocols. Escort patients and family members as needed throughout the facility. Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and guests. Patient Care Support Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns. Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients before and after procedures. Assist clinical staff with patient flow and room turnover as needed. Observe and immediately report any patient concerns or changes in condition to nursing staff. Equipment and Facility Support Ensure wheelchairs, transport equipment, and patient care areas are clean, safe, and ready for use. Properly handle and transport patient equipment and belongings. Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining organized patient care areas. Perform light housekeeping duties related to patient transport and procedure areas. Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards throughout the facility. Team Collaboration Coordinate patient transportation needs with nurses, providers, and other team members. Support efficient patient flow throughout the surgery center. Document transportation activities according to established procedures. Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment. Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift throughout the workday. Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude. Strong attention to safety and patient care. Preferred Previous experience as a Patient Transporter, Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT, or other healthcare support role. CPR Certification. First Aid Certification. Experience working in a surgery center, outpatient facility, hospital, or physician office. Knowledge of patient safety and infection control practices.
