Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Transporter is responsible for safe transport of patients according to hospital policies to and from the assigned department. The Transporter must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Safely transport patients to and from the department via bed, stretcher, or wheelchairs. Must be knowledgeable in the use of oxygen units, both mobile and wall units and maintains the correct number of units while in transport. Maintain infection control principles in removing patients from their room and transporting and must alter technical staff to infection control status. Utilize transport equipment knowledgably and safely. Must use transport aids such as slide boards, maxi slides or multiple person lifts when required. Ensure patients are properly clothed prior to transport and strive to maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times. Participate in QC/PI activities. Participant in clinical oversight of student trainees. Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent 1
  • 6 months to a year of related experience in field.
Required License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
