Job Description

Job Summary Transports patients and supplies to various locations throughout the hospital. Maintains transporting supplies and equipment in a ready state.
Performance:
Position Specific Essential Functions Safely transports patients within the hospital utilizing various transportation equipment. Properly identifies patient to include checking and verifying name and DOB; does not transport patients without armbands; Assists with moving, positioning, holding, and dressing patients as needed; ensures oxygen equipment is readily available and functional; ensures wheelchairs and stretchers are functional, available and cleaned for patients; cleans work area and equipment utilizing infection control techniques. Understands that attendance affects team morale and confidence. Demonstrates reliability and punctuality in regard to attendance. Consistently is present and ready to begin work activities at start of shift, stays within established break periods, arrives on time for meetings and leaves work area promptly at the conclusion of the shift to reduce potential distractions. Schedules personal appointments or requests adjustment to schedule with least amount of disruption to service delivery. Provides prompt notice for unexpected absences. Ability to adjust to a varying work load; assume assignments in a positive manner; attend required meetings and in-services; maintains department competencies and certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Required Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to the possible exposure of ionizing radiation Preferred High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
