GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Aqua Fitness instructor. The primary responsibility of this position is to organize and lead our Aqua Fitness classes. Essential Position Responsibilities Greet participants, answer questions, and address concerns Well prepared Monitor participants for skill level and the warning signs of overexertion and adjusts exercises and/or responds accordingly Ensure that your fitness classes meet AJCC and fitness industry standards Maintain a safe and healthy environment for exercising Dress appropriately for teaching in a pool Teach classes with energy & enthusiasm while motivating participants to the best of your ability Educate participants on proper and safe exercise form Enforce policies and procedures of the pool, class, club and company policies. Report any equipment/facility problems to the Fitness Manager Maintain the highest quality of courtesy, friendliness and service excellence toward members, visitors and other staff Work effectively with all staff members Cleaning of fitness equipment that is required for class before and after usage Additional responsibilities may be assigned Utilize the company mobile app Register members for class and maintain accurate attendance records using the Wellness Living Mobile App Accurately record your hours worked using ADP Adhere to company policies Behavioral Expectations Create a positive environment where two-way communication, accountability, and strong trust are established. Promote teamwork and respect, both internally between staff as well as in community-facing contexts with donors, volunteers, members, and other stakeholders. Demonstrate the ability to respond with a high degree of responsiveness to the needs and requests of others, internally and externally. Understand the impact of their work on others. Requirements:
  • Current Universal Water Aerobics Certification
  • Graduated High School
  • 5+ Years of Experience as a Aqua Aerobics Instructor
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification Skills Knowledgeable in fitness class teaching techniques Ability to provide outstanding customer service Treats people with respect Uphold organizational value Ability to remain organized while managing multiple details Ability to communicate effectively Ability to operate programs and applications (excel, g-mail, outlook, google docs, online reservation system, video conferencing) Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the Group Fitness Instructor is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, equipment or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
This person is required to perform at an intensity level above resting which places demands on the cardiorespiratory system and musculature. The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
