Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated After School Crafts and Fitness Instructor to engage young learners in creative and active activities for students in transitional kindergarten through 2nd grade. This role is scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with 2-3 classes per week. The ideal candidate will foster a fun, safe, and inclusive environment that encourages children's development through hands-on crafts and fitness cooperation games. Available classes Tuesdays, 3:00-4:15 in Piedmont Wednesdays 1:30-2:30 in Berkeley Thursdays 2:20-3:20 in North Berkeley Duties Lead engaging craft projects that promote creativity and fine motor skills for TK-2nd grade students. Facilitate age-appropriate fitness activities that encourage cooperation. Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe and positive environment for all children. Supervise children during activities to ensure safety and adherence to program guidelines. Maintain clear communication with the owner of Happy Kids classes and afterschool directors at each school. Arrive to schools 15 mins prior to class start times. Experience Minimum 5 years experience teaching Crafts and Movement Games to Tk-2nd graders. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Demonstrated ability to lead young students joyfully, while holding strong boundaries. Supplies and equipment for classes are provided, and must be stored and transported to classes each week of the sessions by the instructor.
