The Department offers programs focused on youth, families, seniors, and individuals, promoting positive alternatives, healthy lifestyles, and community connection. From fitness and social activities to prevention and counseling services, it supports the well-being of the community in a safe and welcoming environment. The Department also manages citywide special events and operates local cultural attractions like the Chino Youth Museum and Old Schoolhouse Museum, while the Parks and Facilities Division ensures the care and development of all city parks and facilities. Guided by its mission to impact lives and build a connected community, this department plays a vital role in enhancing Chino's quality of life. Duties/Responsibilities What You'll Do As our new part-time Community Services, Parks & Recreation Leader, you will be assigned to one of the following program areas: After School Up to 18 hours per week Available Monday-Friday, 11:00 am-6:15 pm, hours vary Help create a safe, fun, and positive environment for students during after-school programs and recreational activities. Lead engaging educational and recreational activities that encourage students to build academic, physical, and social skills. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork, initiative, and professionalism. Support students with daily homework and provide encouragement to help them succeed. Build positive relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and fellow staff while maintaining open and effective communication. Promptly communicate important information, including behavioral concerns, injuries, or participant needs, to the Program Specialist. Building Attendant Up to 18 hours per week Available Monday-Sunday, 7:45 am-1:00 am, hours vary Assist with opening and closing City facilities while helping maintain safe, clean, and welcoming environments for the community. Provide friendly and professional customer service to instructors, renters, patrons, and community members. Help ensure facility rules and safety guidelines are followed to support a positive experience for all visitors. Review facility schedules and complete daily reports and paperwork accurately and on time. Support park pavilion rentals and collaborate with co-workers to deliver excellent community services and events. Park Operations Up to 18 hours per week Available Monday-Friday, 1:30 pm-10:30 pm, hours vary, and Saturday-Sunday, 6:30 am-10:30 pm, hours vary Assist in the opening and closing of Ayala Park Operations Center, stadium, and restroom facilities at Ayala Park and other park facilities. Responsible for ensuring the daily facility rental schedule is followed by all users, and document pertinent rental information, i.e. exact times of field usage, on and off times for lights, rental attendance, and report all maintenance and safety hazards at the park. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Enjoys working with the community and creating fun, safe, and engaging recreational experiences for participants of all ages. Communicates effectively, provides excellent customer service, and builds positive relationships with participants, parents, volunteers, instructors, and staff. Works well as part of a team, is organized and dependable, and can help lead activities, programs, and events in a positive and professional manner. Maintains safe and welcoming facilities while following program guidelines, safety procedures, and City policies. Is comfortable using computers, communication tools, and basic recordkeeping systems to support daily program operations. Is creative and motivated, with the ability to plan age-appropriate activities, encourage participation, and foster an inclusive environment for the community. Exercises good judgment, remains flexible in a fast-paced environment, and can work independently while supporting team goals.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. (or pursuing completion of High School Diploma or G.E.D.)Experience:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment. Possession of, or successful acquisition within six (6) months of employment, valid certifications in First Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) use for adult, child, and infant, provided by the City, to be maintained throughout employment.For After School Programs:
Complete secondary fingerprint requirement through Chino Valley Unified School District.For After School Programs:
Successfully pass Chino Valley Unified School District's Instructional Aide test within three months of appointment.Special Requirements Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Duties involve a combination of office and recreational field activities, including typing, filing, operating office equipment, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and light to moderate lifting.Lifting Requirements:
Employees may be required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment typically up to 25 pounds, with assistance or proper equipment when needed.Work Environment:
Work is performed in both office and outdoor recreation settings with exposure to varying weather conditions, moderate to loud noise levels, and frequent interaction with staff and the public.Work Schedule:
