Personal Trainer / Private Fitness Coach About the Role We are looking for an experienced and highly qualified Personal Trainer in Fresno, California to work one-on-one with a 50-year-old male client . The ideal trainer should have 5-10+ years of hands-on personal training experience and a strong understanding of training adults in their 50s. We are looking for someone who can create and consistently follow a structured, progressive training program rather than simply provide general workout guidance. The primary objective is to improve overall physical fitness, build lean muscle mass and strength, and improve cardiovascular health. Three Core Training Priorities1. Strength Training Develop functional strength through progressive resistance training. Build a structured strength program appropriate for a 50-year-old client. Focus on proper form, technique, mobility, stability, and injury prevention. Track strength progression and adjust workouts as needed. Incorporate compound movements and appropriate resistance exercises. 2. Muscle Building / Mass Development Develop and maintain lean muscle mass through progressive resistance training. Create workouts designed for hypertrophy and muscular development. Gradually increase training volume and intensity based on the client's progress and recovery. Monitor progress and make adjustments to exercises, repetitions, sets, and resistance when appropriate. 3.
Cardiovascular / Heart
Health Develop a consistent cardiovascular training program. Incorporate appropriate rhythmic, sustained movement and cardio conditioning to improve cardiovascular endurance. Use activities such as walking, cycling, treadmill work, elliptical, rowing, or other appropriate cardio modalities. Incorporate heart-rate-based training where appropriate. Monitor exercise intensity and ensure cardio sessions are challenging but appropriate for the client's fitness level. Responsibilities Conduct 4-5 training sessions per week . Design individualized weekly and long-term training programs. Assess the client's current fitness level and establish measurable goals. Combine strength training, muscle-building, mobility, and cardiovascular conditioning. Demonstrate exercises and ensure proper form and technique. Track workouts, progress, strength gains, cardiovascular conditioning, and overall performance. Adjust the training program based on progress, recovery, and performance. Maintain a consistent and professional training schedule. Provide motivation, accountability, and constructive feedback. Prioritize safe and sustainable progress rather than unnecessarily aggressive training. Communicate clearly regarding training progress and areas that need improvement. Ideal Candidate We are specifically looking for someone with: 5-10+ years of professional personal training experience. Experience training middle-aged and/or older adults . Strong knowledge of strength training and hypertrophy/muscle development. Strong understanding of cardiovascular conditioning and heart-rate-based training. Knowledge of mobility, flexibility, warm-up, recovery, and injury prevention. Ability to design individualized training programs. Excellent understanding of exercise form and biomechanics. A professional, patient, and encouraging personality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to consistently commit to 4-5 sessions per week . A results-oriented but safety-conscious approach. Ability to track and explain client progress. Gym Access The trainer must have access to a suitable gym in Fresno, California with appropriate equipment for: Free weights Barbells and weight machines Dumbbells Resistance training Cardiovascular equipment Treadmills/bikes/ellipticals or similar cardio equipment The specific gym/location can be discussed with the selected candidate. What We Are Looking For This position is best suited for a trainer who takes a long-term, structured approach to fitness . We are not simply looking for someone to supervise workouts.
