General Description The Personal Trainer & Stretch Specialist is a versatile fitness professional responsible for delivering comprehensive health and wellness results. You will bridge the gap between fitness performance and active recovery by providing science-based workout programming alongside expert manual assisted stretching. This role acts as a premier brand coach, driving member sales and retention through a holistic approach to fitness, balancing fitness development, functional movement improvement, and chronic pain alleviation through specialized recovery techniques. Core Responsibilities and Duties 1. Client Training & Programming Develop and execute safe, professional, and progressive personal training programs based on initial fitness assessments. Build and retain a client base by nurturing professional relationships and providing an exceptional experience. 2. Business Development & Performance Proactively engage with members on the gym floor to build rapport and convert leads into active clients. Conduct assessments for new members to drive personal training sales. Meet or exceed monthly performance KPIs, including session completion rates, renewal percentages, and new client acquisition. Document client progress through session notes, update attendance, and assist with promoting and selling stretch/training packages. Utilize club management software to track client attendance and sessions, and manage scheduling. 3. Facility & Safety Excellence Maintain a pristine training environment by cleaning and organizing equipment immediately after use. Perform routine floor walks to ensure the fitness center is tidy and equipment is in its proper place. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Director immediately. 4. Professionalism & Growth Stay current with industry trends, evidence-based research, and nutritional guidelines. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and continuing education workshops. Actively participate in club events, challenges, and social media initiatives to promote the fitness department. Conduct a minimum of 8 training sessions per week to maintain active status. Monitor client form and intensity during sessions, providing real-time corrections and motivational cues. Incorporate diverse training modalities (functional, HIIT, strength, mobility) to ensure client results and engagement. Deliver high-quality, 1-on-1 assisted stretching sessions tailored to individual client needs (e.g., athletes, seniors, desk-bound professionals).
Qualifications Certification:
Current Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, or NSCA). Proven experience or certification in stretch therapy, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) or massage therapy.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of personal training or group fitness experience preferred.
Life Safety:
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-term relationships and the value of fitness.
Physical Requirements Lifting:
Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs (weights, kettlebells, equipment) frequently throughout a shift.
Mobility:
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and demonstrate complex physical movements for the duration of a shift.
Environment:
Must be comfortable working in a loud, high-energy environment. Shift days and times can vary. •Compensation includes complimentary Spare Time Clubs membership. Hourly Compensation based pay plus percentage of revenue. •
