Duties Lead group fitness classes for a small group across various formats such as cardio, strength, HIIT, or specialty classes, ensuring high energy and participant engagement. Ensure all exercises are performed with proper body mechanics and technique to maximize safety and effectiveness. Provide clear instructions on exercise execution, modifications, and safety precautions; monitor participants closely during sessions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and sports coaching principles to enhance class quality. Conduct health and safety checks including manual handling procedures; operate AED (Automated External Defibrillator) equipment in emergencies. Foster a welcoming environment by delivering exceptional customer service and encouraging ongoing participation in fitness programs. Qualifications Proven experience in the fitness industry with background in group fitness instruction or personal training, minimum one-year experience in teaching the group fitness class. Strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and strength & conditioning training programs. Nationally accredited current fitness certification - certifications:
NSA, ACE, ACSM, PTA
Global, NASM, AFAA. If you have certification in Pilates or Barre, you are also welcome. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid; AED operation certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging program designs tailored to diverse client needs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and instruct participants effectively. Experience working with athletes or individuals requiring specialized physical fitness training is advantageous. Familiarity with gym equipment operation, manual handling techniques, and weight handling in the workplace. Previous experience in health club or fitness center environments is highly desirable.
