DIRECTOR POSITION SUMMARY
The Personal Trainer is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and personalized fitness programs that help Members achieve their health and wellness goals while providing an exceptional luxury club experience. This position develops individualized exercise programs, conducts one-on-one and small group training sessions, educates Members on proper exercise techniques, and promotes overall wellness through encouragement, accountability, and professional guidance. The Personal Trainer serves as a wellness ambassador for Hideaway Golf Club by building lasting Member relationships, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety, and contributing to a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive fitness environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Member Fitness & Wellness Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments and health screenings within the scope of certification. Design individualized fitness programs that support Members' overall health, wellness, mobility, strength, and golf performance. Conduct safe, engaging, and results-oriented personal training sessions. Instruct Members on proper exercise techniques, equipment operation, body mechanics, and injury prevention. Monitor Member progress and adjust exercise programs as needed to maximize results. Encourage, motivate, and support Members in achieving long-term wellness goals. Promote healthy lifestyle habits through fitness education and wellness coaching. Maintain accurate training records, progress notes, and appointment schedules. Member Experience & Hospitality Deliver exceptional, personalized service that exceeds Member expectations. Build professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Learn Members' fitness goals, preferences, and exercise history to provide individualized experiences. Create a welcoming, encouraging, and inclusive fitness environment for Members of all experience levels. Respond professionally to Member questions, concerns, and requests. Protect Member privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding all health and wellness information. Fitness Operations Ensure the fitness center remains clean, organized, and fully operational. Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Assist with equipment setup, movement, and organization as needed. Maintain adequate supplies of towels, cleaning products, and fitness accessories. Participate in club wellness events, fitness classes, demonstrations, and special programming. Promote personal training services, wellness programs, fitness classes, and other Spa & Fitness offerings through relationship-building, Member education, and exceptional service. Support departmental goals by encouraging Member participation in wellness programs and helping create a vibrant, engaging fitness community. Maintain accurate records of personal training sessions, client progress, package utilization, and required departmental documentation. Professional Standards Maintain all required certifications and continuing education requirements. Remain current on industry trends, exercise science, wellness research, and best practices. Follow all safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and Club policies. Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Hideaway Golf Club standards. Foster teamwork through positive communication and collaboration. Represent Hideaway Golf Club with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm. Perform other duties as assigned.
MEMBER EXPERIENCE & TRAINING EXPECTATIONS
Maintain accurate training schedules, appointment records, and Member progress documentation. Prepare for each training session by reviewing Member goals, fitness history, and individualized exercise plans. Begin and end each session on time while maximizing the Member's training experience. Communicate professionally regarding appointments, scheduling changes, cancellations, and follow-up recommendations. Monitor Member progress and modify exercise programs based on individual performance, goals, and physical capabilities. Encourage Member accountability through positive coaching, motivation, and consistent follow-up. Maintain accurate documentation of training sessions and recommendations while protecting Member confidentiality. Current Personal Trainer certification from a nationally recognized organization such as NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or ISSA. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. Previous experience in a luxury fitness club, private club, resort, wellness center, or comparable fitness environment preferred. Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and injury prevention. Ability to safely demonstrate and instruct proper use of fitness equipment and free weights. Ability to develop individualized exercise programs for varying fitness levels. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client schedules. Professional appearance, discretion, and sound judgment. Commitment to exceptional Member service and luxury hospitality standards. Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Specialty certifications (Senior Fitness, Corrective Exercise, Functional Training, Golf Fitness, Pilates, TRX, Nutrition Coaching, or similar) are desirable. Hospitality, customer service, or guest relations training is beneficial. Commitment to delivering exceptional Member service and upholding luxury hospitality standards. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Criminal and civil background clearance.

Work Environment This position works throughout the Spa & Fitness Center, including the fitness center, group exercise studios, outdoor wellness spaces, locker rooms, administrative workspaces, and other Club facilities. Personal Trainers frequently interact with Members, Guests, Spa & Fitness staff, and Club leadership while providing one-on-one training, group instruction, wellness coaching, and special fitness programming. This role requires maintaining a safe, professional, motivating, and welcoming environment while adapting to varying schedules and Member needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing and walking for extended periods while conducting personal training sessions and monitoring Member exercise. Demonstrating proper exercise techniques, stretches, strength-training movements, and functional fitness exercises. Frequently bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and assisting Members with proper body positioning and exercise form. Safely lifting, carrying, moving, organizing, and demonstrating the proper use of free weights, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, resistance bands, medicine balls, mats, and other fitness equipment. Providing physical assistance and spotting Members during strength-training exercises while maintaining proper body mechanics and responding appropriately during medical or fitness-related emergencies. Using computers, tablets, scheduling software, and electronic fitness records to manage appointments and Member progress. Communicating continuously with Members, Guests, Spa & Fitness staff, instructors, and management regarding training programs and wellness services.
